You know, I’ve mentioned Takahashi Mikako here and there, but I never did say or write what it is that I specifically like about her. And really, there’s only a short simple answer…and that is her normality.

Takahashi Mikako is pretty much a one voice pony, with mostly all her roles sounding just about the same. It’s a normal type of voice that you would probably encounter in real life. Although there’s not much variety to her vocal range, she does what needs to be done and does it well. Her performances really leaves an impression on me, she may not have a wide vocal range, but the emotions and performance she puts into her roles completely compensates for that.

Her most notable role I think is as Akiba Rika in Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, followed by Honey and Clover’s Yamada Ayumi. But she also has some secondary roles like my favorite Hamster in Hayate no Gotoku and Fujinami Tomoko in Canvas 2. Both of which left an impression, Ayumu because of her one-sided love and Tomoko because of her view on life and death…

Her singing is the same. There’s nothing exceptionally great about it, but it gets the job done. Again, she has a normal one range type of voice, but it’s pleasing to the ears and not bad at all. I have about 12 songs where she sing, 10 from the album “sweet” and 2 from the Nishizawa Ayumu Character Album…where she sings two of her best song IMO. Pretty weak collection, but then again, she doesn’t sing so often! ^_^’

  1. I simply love much of her work, especially Ayu in Honey & Clover. She just gives me a good feeling. And she has one of the longest-running of all seiyuu radio shows. She seems capable and intelligent running the show. You can hear her now as one of the heroine’s friends in Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto Natsu no Sora. One of my favorite roles was as Rodoreamon in Simoun . She sang a simple little lullaby very effectively there, too.
